This oil is made from a blend of predominantly Frantoio, Leccino, San Felice and Itrana olives with some Manzanillo, Maurino and Pendolino olives from our orchard is certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers, CCOF.
It received a Silver medal at the
2008 Yolo County Fair Olive Oil Competition. We picked the olives medium-ripe
by hand and brought them immediately to our certified organic mill right next
to the orchard on our farm so that they could be milled without any delays. We
used the most careful production processes, without any added water or heat to
make pure olive juice that is as healthy and delicious as possible. We stored
the oil in stainless steel fustis in a cool room so that it could be optimally
preserved and bottled it in dark glass bottles to prevent the oil from being
damaged by light. This oil is high in anti-oxidants, which means that it has a
relatively intense taste. Like all our oils, it is certified extra virgin by the California Olive Oil Council, COOC.
